2021 KBSNA American Academy of Religion Meeting

The 2021 Karl Barth Society of America meeting at the American Academy of Religion will take place in San Antonio, Texas. There will be two meetings scheduled for this year, one in-person and one virtually:

Friday, November 19th, 2021 — 4:00 – 6:00 PM (CDT):

In-person meeting in the Grant Hyatt-Republic B, featuring papers from Sarah
Jobe (Duke Divinity School) entitled “Preaching Basel Prison: The Personal and
Political in Barth’s Judged Judge” and from Katherine Sonderegger (Virginia
Theological Seminary) entitled “The Bible as Holy Scripture.” Keith Johnson
(Wheaton College) will preside over the session.

Sunday, November 20th, 2021 — 9:00 – 11:00 AM (CDT):

Virtual meeting featuring a roundtable discussion on the recently published
Barth in Conversation volumes from Westminster John Knox Press. Papers will
be presented by members of the Barth Translators’ Seminar of the Center for
Barth Studies at Princeton Theological Seminary. The presentations will be
followed by an open discussion and Keith Johnson (Wheaton College) will
preside over the session.
